Forage & Snacks

A Three-Hour Wild Food Adventure in Mid-Wales

What You’ll Experience

Step off the beaten path and into the wild with me, Gavin. Drawing on 30+ years of fieldcraft and foraging, I’ll guide you through a hands-on, practical journey; identifying, gathering, and tasting the best wild foods the season has to offer. Expect:
  • A gentle 3-hour walk (typically 1–2 km, tailored to group needs and terrain)
  • Identification of 15–20 wild species (plants, fungi, maybe a surprise or two)
  • Tastings straight from the hedgerow and a wild snack prepared in advance; think wild soup, seasonal fritters, or a forager’s salad (all cooked safely and with dietary needs in mind)
  • Stories, practical tips, and honest answers, no fluff, just real skills and lived experience
  • Open Q&A. Ask anything, from bushcraft to recipe ideas

Who’s It For?

Everyone is welcome, no experience required. Whether you’re a total beginner, a seasoned prepper, or just curious about wild food, you’ll leave with new skills and confidence. Suitable for individuals, families, and small groups. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Why Choose Found Food?

  • Military precision, friendly delivery: Decades of experience, but always approachable
  • Ethical, sustainable foraging: Learn the 30% rule and why it matters
  • Community-first ethos: You’re not a customer, you’re a fellow forager
  • Safety is non-negotiable: First aid trained, insured, and all wild foods checked before tasting

What to Bring

  • Sturdy shoes/boots (expect uneven ground)
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • A basket or bag for finds (if you want to take home samples)
  • Notepad, camera, and a sense of adventure!

Accessibility & Safety

Walks are tailored to group abilities, but please get in touch if you have accessibility needs or allergies. All activities are risk-assessed and safety instructions are given at the start.

Did You Know?

All Found Food experiences are designed to leave no trace and foster respect for nature. You’ll learn to forage with care, leaving enough for wildlife and future foragers.
