What You’ll Experience

Join me for a full-day wild food immersion. This is your chance to go beyond the basics; learning to find, identify, and cook with the best wild ingredients our landscape has to offer. We’ll start with an extended foraging walk (up to 4–5 kilometres, tailored to the group), exploring a variety of habitats and aiming to identify at least 15–20 edible wild species of plants, fungi, and whatever the season brings.
You’ll get hands-on experience with safe identification, ethical harvesting, and the stories and folklore behind each find. I’ll share practical tips from decades of field-craft, survival, and foraging, showing you how to spot the best ingredients and avoid the risky lookalikes.
Once we’ve filled our baskets, we’ll set up a simple outdoor kitchen and turn our foraged haul into a memorable wild feast. Expect to cook (and eat) several seasonal dishes; think wild soups, stews, fritters, salads, and more alongside homemade wild condiments and drinks, all prepared together and shared as a group. You’ll leave with field-tested recipes, new skills, and the confidence to recreate wild food at home.
There will be plenty of time for questions throughout, whether you’re curious about identification, safety, sustainability, or how to get children involved in foraging and cooking.
Dietary needs can be accommodated if you let me know in advance.
