Introduction to Wild Food Foraging

Curious about foraging but not sure where to start? This two-hour hands-on session is designed for everyone—families, foodies, urban explorers, bushcrafters, and anyone looking to reconnect with nature. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some wild food experience, you’ll come away with practical skills, new flavours, and a deeper appreciation for the land.

What to Expect

  • A gentle walk (1–2km) through diverse habitats, no specialist kit or prior knowledge needed.
  • ID and Taste 10–20 wild species (season-dependent), from edible greens to aromatic herbs and even a few surprising mushrooms or berries.
  • Learn to spot poisonous lookalikes and understand the golden rules of safe, responsible foraging.
  • Try wild samples: I’ll bring a few pre-prepared treats, but most tastings are straight from nature’s pantry.
  • Q&A throughout: Bring your curiosity, no question too basic or advanced.
  • Post-walk recap: Within a couple of days, you’ll get a personalised email listing what we found, plus extra tips for your next adventure.

Who’s it for?

  • All ages and backgrounds: solo explorers, couples, families, and friend groups.
  • Total beginners, seasoned outdoor types, and anyone looking for a fresh perspective on the wild.
  • Accessible for most fitness levels (if you have mobility needs, just let me know in advance).

Why Choose Found Food?

  • Military precision, ethical clarity: My approach is rooted in decades of fieldcraft, with a focus on clear instruction, safety, and sustainability.
  • Community-first: No “buyers”, just Found Food Insiders, learning and sharing together.
  • Sustainability: Every session includes practical tips on harvesting respectfully (no more than 30% rule), with a lived commitment to leaving nature richer than we found it.

Did You Know?

Foraging is as much about curiosity and connection as it is about food. It’s a chance to slow down, notice the small things, and rediscover the wild side of your local landscape.

What to Bring

  • Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes
  • A notebook or camera if you want to record what you find
  • Any questions or wild food stories you want to share

Still Not Sure?

If you’re on the fence, drop me a message. I’m always happy to talk through any concerns or special requirements.
